We are currently looking for a Construction Manager to join a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant project located on a university campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is a high-priority position requiring immediate availability to support on-site execution and project close-out activities.
Lead on-site construction activities for a CHP (Combined Heat and Power) plant project.
Ensure daily presence on-site (4–5 days per week) to supervise progress and execution.
Coordinate and oversee the work of the General Contractor (GC), ensuring performance, compliance, and timely delivery.
Drive project execution during final construction phases, including commissioning support and close-out.
Manage and track punch list items, ensuring all deficiencies are properly resolved.
Identify risks, delays, or issues on-site and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil) on-site.
Report directly to the Project Manager (Atwell), providing updates on progress, risks, and milestones.
Support documentation, reporting, and final handover processes.
Proven experience as Construction Manager or similar role in industrial or energy projects.
Mandatory experience in:
Combined Heat and Power (CHP), thermal plants, power plants, or similar energy infrastructure.
Strong background in on-site construction management (field-based role).
Experience working directly with General Contractors (GC) and managing performance.
Hands-on experience in:
Project close-out phases
Punch list management and resolution
Commissioning support (preferred)
Strong technical understanding of:
Mechanical and electrical systems in energy plants
Ability to work on-site full-time (4–5 days per week).
For U.S.-based candidates:
Must be local to Ann Arbor or nearby areas.
For international candidates:
Valid U.S. work authorization (visa required).
